Aeroplane View.
Some views change everything.
Flying from Melbourne to Sydney recently, I was lucky enough to grab a window seat. As the plane climbed above the clouds, I peered down and watched the landscape unfold — roads, rivers, fields, even tiny cars — all in perfect clarity.
What usually feels messy and chaotic on the ground looked calm, ordered, and easy to navigate.
It struck me: this is exactly what a home build or renovation needs.
When we’re too close — too focused on just the next stage — it’s easy to lose our bearings. A designer might be realising a brief that’s slowly shifting and creeping. A builder might be pricing something that’s already veered off track. A homeowner might be fixated on the outcome without seeing how it affects the bigger plan.
But when we take that aeroplane view, we can see the whole journey. We can anticipate dead ends, blocked bridges, and scenic routes worth taking. We can check whether the destination we’re aiming for is still the same.
That’s what great projects do.
They zoom out, then zoom in with precision.
They create space for collective clarity, not just individual tasks.
Because when we share the same map, we build with greater ease, trust, and direction.
