Beyond the Existing

This week, I brought my ‘big-picture’ project planning to a home and people who mean the absolute world to me—my Mum & Dad.

After 52 years, our family home is going on the market. It’s time to ‘Pass the Torch,’ as the real estate ad reads.

If those walls could talk, they’d share stories of lively dinners as a family of six, epic board game battles, deep convos with a glass of wine around the kitchen bench—and later, a house bursting at the seams as we four kids welcomed partners and twelve grandkids.

This home has served us so incredibly well. But with just one bathroom and one toilet, it no longer suits how most families like to live today.

So, I pulled out the yellow trace and explored how the home could be tweaked and changed to unlock its full potential.

It’s about seeing past the existing conditions and imagining what this home could become for the next owners and next chapter.

What a privilege to use my skills for the people I love most.

PS: You can check out an explanation of the proposed changes here. Seeing past the existing conditions can be hard. Are you or one of your clients grappling with the best path forward for both outcome and feasibility? Book a free ‘Breakthrough Call’, and we’ll work it out together.
